Frequently asked questions about institutional and financial communication
Answers to the main questions from financial institutions and corporates regarding institutional and financial communications, media relations and press office activities.
What is institutional and financial communication?
Institutional and financial communication includes the strategic activities aimed at building and strengthening a company’s positioning, reputation and credibility towards all key stakeholders, including investors, clients, employees, shareholders, media, industry stakeholders and the broader business and financial community. It includes the definition of strategic positioning and the implementation of press office activities, media relations, content production, reputation management and communication support in complex contexts such as extraordinary transactions or crisis situations.
When is it necessary to rely on a press office specialized in institutional and financial communications?
The support of a specialized press office is particularly valuable when a company operates in regulated or complex environments, such as financial institutions, listed companies, banks, investment funds or corporates. It is essential, for example, to build or strengthen the desired positioning, manage relationships with financial and general news media, and communicate strategic transactions or the launch of new products and services.

What is the difference between media relations and press office activities?

Media relations, on the other hand, represent the strategic activity of building and managing long-term relationships with journalists and editorial teams, with the goal of enhancing the positioning of both the company and its top management.
At BC Communication, these activities are fully integrated: press office operations are combined with the development of ongoing relationships with financial and general news media to ensure media coverage aligned with the client’s strategic positioning.

How long does it take to see the first results?
Timing depends on the project objectives, the company’s initial positioning and the market environment. Initial results in terms of media visibility may emerge within the first months of activity, while building a strong and credible positioning requires consistent medium- to long-term work.
How do you measure the results of communication activities?
BC Communication continuously monitors communication activities to assess their effectiveness over time. Results are analysed through semi-annual reporting based on the objectives shared with the client, the visibility achieved and the ability to strengthen the company’s positioning towards media and stakeholders.
Continuous monitoring allows for regular updates with the client and the ongoing optimization of communication activities throughout the engagement.
